Goddess Eyes, Seriously.
16 AugThis product is a PR sample. However my opinion will remain unchanged.
Eye Inspire Catwalk Collection – Goddess Eyes Quad 02 by MeMeMe Cosmetics (£6.50).
There’s something about MeMeMe that have always drawn me in. Their packaging is classy and feminine. Their cosmetics always go that extra mile, have that little extra feature that makes them different from the rest.
MeMeMe Cosmetics are sold in Superdrug stores around the UK. They describe themselves as a ‘loveable boutique brand’. The inspiration for the MeMeMe brand came from the Ancient Greeks. This can be seen in their names for example; ‘Goddess Eyes’. They create their products to the standard of the ‘best & most renowned cosmetic houses’, however put them at a price women can afford. MeMeMe have an amazing story behind them, that was just me shortening it, to read more click here.
I’ve been given the eye shadow quad in 02. This is a baked eyeshadow. I’ve always found baked eyeshadows more difficult to pick up with a brush. These are no exception. The individual eyeshadows are quite small, so you need a small eyeshadow brush. To pick up the eye shadow your best swirling your brush around the shadow in circles. After you’ve done this a few times the shadow loosens up, making it easier to use.
The colours are all shimmery. Not suitable for matte lovers! Personally, I love shimmer eye shadows, and these colours are simply gorgeous. They’re creamy too, so lovely to apply, and take little building up once you have the shadow on your brush. I’ve had no problems with this shadow staying on. It stays on all day easily, no fading and only a tiny crease appearing near the end of the day.
There’s so many colour options with this palette, you can mix and match as much as you like. I thought I’d show you the colour you get from mixing them all:
I’ve fallen in love with these eyeshadows. They’re perfect for daytime wear, the colours create a natural look that really enhances your eyes. Here’s a look I created using all the colours except the top right colour:

First the box itself:

Now the six products that came inside the box:
Bodycare – Olavie Antioxidant Body Butter. Smells nice, not amazing though!
Make Up – Jane Iredale PureLash Extender and Conditioner. Can’t wait to try this out. I’ve been considering products like this recently.
Haircare – Sachajuan Hair Conditioner. This is meant to be professional haircare, which is probably why it doesn’t come in a pretty bottle.
Fragrance - Etat Libre D’Orange. Archives 69 & Rien. Rien isn’t for me.
Skincare – Babor HSR Lifting Extra Firming Cream. Not something I personally need, but I’ll give it a go.
Lifestyle – Green Tea & White Tea Duo. Out of all the things, tea was not one I was expecting to see. I don’t like tea, sorry guys!

Join me later on tonight for my first post of MeMeMe week – Eye Inspire Baked Eyeshadow Quad! Don’t miss it!

Gorgeous Smoky Eyes, Amazingly Easy.
13 AugFirst, I want to quickly show you what’s coming up in the next two weeks. I created this look with MeMeMe Cosmetics:
To create this look I used four MeMeMe products. The Shimmer Stack in Gold, Baked Eyeshadow in Quad 2, Pussy Cat Tint and Lipstick in Tuscan Red. Reviews of these and more coming in the next two weeks.
I’d been wanting to try this for a while. The smoky eye effect has been one I’ve always wanted to master. It’s really opens up eyes, making them look larger and flirty. I’ve never been able to create a good smoky eye effect, until now.
Max Factor claim to be ‘make up of the make up artists’. Their products are sold in Boots stores nation wide. And larger Tesco stores, which is where I got mine, in a rather large haul (see here).
They’re are eight shades overall, I choose Onyx Smoke which is black and white. This provides the colours for the traditional smoky eye look. The eye shadow comes in two steps:

So, you cover your eye lid with Step One. Going right up to the eye brows. This is a beautiful white colour, it doesn’t go on very thick and has a subtle shimmer. Perfect for the smoky eye look.
Then use Step Two. This goes along the lash line and the eye lid crease. Thicken at the corners to add drama. Also sweep under the bottom lashes. I often only sweep it half way across, and make a point where it meets the top black shadow.
This is so easy to do! Unbelievably easy. You get such a great look:
These shadows aren’t the creamiest I’ve used, but still go on easily. Now this smoky eye effects would be amazing if they stayed on well. They don’t. They crease so much, the worst I’ve ever seen an eye shadow crease. Primer didn’t help either
. After a few hours:
Luckily, you can’t tell how much an eye shadow has creased until you close your eyes. When my eye was open you couldn’t tell. So it’s not all bad, I’ll still continue to use this.
I have to be honest though, ‘make up of the make up artists’, come on Max Factor, this is not the standard make up artists would use.
Overall; This eyeshadow pen allows you to create the smoky eye look so easily. Bad creasing however means it’s something I won’t be wearing as often as I’d like.
A rather mixed review. You can buy Max Factor from http://www.boots.com/ or http://www.superdrug.com. Also from Boots, Superdrug and large Tesco stores.

Cheap and Very Cheerful – MUA eyeshadows!
11 Aug

MUA have been all over the beauty blogging community recently. They aim to produce affordable cosmetics with high quality. In their normal range each product costs only £1 each. They’ve recently launched their professional range in which prices go upto £4. So far what I’ve tried I’ve loved, (see lipstick review here). They come highly recommended by so many beauty bloggers, including myself, I swear by this company. So I thought I’d do a review on the much loved and raved about eye shadows.
MUA is sold at superdrug stores nation wide. However MUA professional seems pretty difficult to get hold of at the moment, it as however available from the superdrug website.
Shade 6 and 7 came from the normal range and cost £1 each.
Heaven and earth Palette came from the professional range and cost £4.
I did notice a difference between the two ranges. The professional range builds up more easily and has better pigmentation. It’s also creamier so applies and blends more easily. For both shadows I’ve shown with and without base, you don’t necessarily need a base, the colour lasts long enough without. Continue reading

The ‘Fakies’ Post. Elegant Touch Nails, Eye Candy Lashes and 2 Bargain Alerts.
10 AugBefore I start this review, I want to send my thoughts to everyone affected by the riots in London, but also in Manchester and Birmingham. I’d also like to send my thoughts to people that have been affected in the Nottingham area. Especially people in Mapperley where cars have been burnt and windows broken. This is the area I live, normally a safe, friendly place. It has been turned into a scared neighbourhood thanks to mindless youths. I’d also like to point out, not all young people are like this. Being only 18 myself, so many young people are disgusted. It doesn’t make you look ‘good’ or ‘cool’, it makes you look ridiculous. These people don’t deserve respect, they deserve a harsh prison sentence for ruining our amazing cities. The community has really come together in clean up missions. These are the people that mark our future, not the ‘yobs’ we see looting our best loved stores.
Onto my review, it was written before the riots.
Like a lot of girls, I love faking it! It’s so much easier and with good products you get good results. Elegant Touch are my favourite fake nails brand and Eye Candy are my favourite fake lashes brand.
Eye Candy produce amazing lashes. They produce 50′s and 60′s style lashes. The ones below are from the 50′s range. I’ve reviewed a pair from the 60′s range here. Bargain Alert – Eye Candy are normally available at Boots for £4.49 however I found them at ‘Boyes’ for £2.99. Boyes is a discount store that has stores around the UK.

Finally, A Murad Post!
7 AugEven though I received this moisturiser in my iFabbo goody bag, my reviews will still remain my own opinion.
Murad - Anti Ageing Moisturiser SPF 20 - £46.50 for 50ml
Everything I’ve been told about Murad has impressed me. They were founded by Howard Murad M.D, (otherwise known simply as Dr. Murad). Dr. Murad is a board-certified dermatologist and pharmacist. Basically, this guy knows his stuff, big time. Dr. Murad designs his products with ‘The Cellular Water Principle’ in mind. For skin to be healthy cells need to be strong against environmental damage, for example; UV radiation or inflammation. Dr. Murads products aim to keep your skin strong and healthy, so your cells can take on what the world has to offer.
I’ve been given the Anti Ageing Moisturiser in SPF 20. Great! I love a good bit of SPF. The anti ageing is something I need less at the age of 18. However, SPF will protect you against ageing later on in life, and prevent further ageing if your older. If you want an anti ageing product, one is SPF is ideal. Continue reading
